INTERNSHIPS
Learn the ins and outs of running a farmers market! We are seeking organized and outgoing interns to assist the WATM staff in the 2021 market season. This is an excellent opportunity for those who have an interest in getting involved in the local food system. Interns will not only learn the basics of what it takes to operate a farmer’s market, but will also be provided opportunities to dig deeper through attending relevant meetings, events, and customized projects.
APPLICANT SHOULD

RESPONSIBILIES MAY INCLUDE
-
Assisting with the set-up & breakdown of the market information booth (requires heavy lifting)
-
Answering customer’s questions at the market information booth
-
Operating the market token program (credit card & EBT machine)
-
Assisting the Market staff with special events, including market suppers
-
Leading weekly kid activities during market
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED)

Retail sales or customer service
-
Working with youth or leading activities
-
Knowledge of the local food system
